Take Care Of Those Hemorrhoids: Here’s How

Every 10 minutes or so, switch the cold compress with a warm, moist heat source. Sitting in a warm bath and alternating with an ice pack application, can also help reduce pain and swelling of hemorrhoids to make you more comfortable.

Swelling of hemorrhoid tissue and the associated pain can often be alleviated with a warm sitz bath. Fill your tub with at least six inches of warm water and sit in it. This will help increase the blood flow to the area, and can reduce some of the associated discomfort. Keep your knees elevated. Stay in this position for for an adequate amount of time, waiting until the water starts to cool at least.

Aloe Vera Juice

Aloe Vera juice can work wonders; drinking it will help loosen stuck stools and make your bowl movements not as straining. To mask the unpleasant taste, you can dilute the Aloe Vera with a sugar-free apple juice. Be certain to read the information on the label and drink the recommended dosage only. Going overboard with the Aloe Vera juice will probably give you an upset stomach.

If you must use a cream to reduce the discomfort of your hemorrhoids, try to do it as infrequently as possible. These types of creams can have a numbing effect, but they will not actually reduce the swelling or irritation that you are experiencing. Speak with your doctor if you find that using these creams is necessary for longer than one week. Do not use any products in a manner for which they were not intended. Follow all directions carefully to avoid exasperating your condition.
